Cleanings & Exams
At Simply Dental, we strive to make each visit as comfortable as possible. From the moment you arrive, our friendly team will help answer any questions you may have and put your mind at ease.
Typically, we start with a full set of digital x-rays at your initial visit. Afterwards, a comprehensive exam of your teeth and gums as well as an oral cancer screening will be performed. The dentist will then ask if there is anything bothering you. This would be an excellent time to let the doctor know if you have noticed any symptoms or have any concerns regarding the health of your teeth.
If the overall condition of your teeth and gums is in good shape you may just need a regular cleaning. However, if it has been assessed that you have gum disease, then a more thorough deep cleaning may be necessary.
Composite Fillings
Whether a tooth is fractured or a cavity is present, composite fillings can be made to appear natural and seamless.
These resin restorations are bonded to the remaining tooth structure making them a very conservative approach to repairing a tooth because less drilling is required to secure the filling.
Composites come in a variety of shades and is matched to your individual tooth color. And with improvements over the years, resins are comparable in strength to silver amalgam fillings.

What Can I Expect During my First Visit?

Next, one of our dental professionals will conduct your new patient exam. This includes:
- Taking digital x-rays
- Performing a 3D scan of your mouth
- Discussing your medical and dental history

Then, based on the results of this exam and your overall dental needs, the dentist will customize a treatment plan for your specific needs.
